Christian Brotherhood
The purpose of this blog is to give men who are, or will become the leaders in their homes, a way to build each other up and better become Bereans. Proverbs 27:17 says that "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
As we seek to sharpen each other , 2 Timothy 3:16 says," All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness". Each time you post, please include at least two scriptures that clearly back up what you are trying to say. May God speak to each one of us and perfect us through His Word.

Long hair defined (shame or not)
1 Corinthians 11:14
Doth not even nature it self teach you, that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him.
Doth not even nature it self teach you, that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him.

Why does it seem that the Torah and our contemporary view of Grace are incompatible?
Amongst the different people posting on this blog there has been the assumption that the Torah and Grace are somehow incompatible. Are they incompatible, or can they work together to enhance our view of scripture and the way we live it out? This question is probably the key factor in why different individuals consider the Torah done away with or finished. What are your thoughts?

The topic of the week (2)
Romans 2; Jew or not? Circumcised or not? Law needed or not? What does it mean to be a Jew?

What about "Fulfill"?
Jordans topic:
Matthew 5:17-19 KJV
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Did Jesus Christ fulfill EVERY requirement of the law?
If so..... what are we supposed to fulfill?
If not ...... Then we express through our outward actions (of trying to fulfill what we can of the law) that we believe what Jesus said in verse 17 was a lie.
That would be a dangerous thing to believe.
I like verse 19 talking about "...one of THESE least commandments.. " referring to what he was about to say not " one of those formerly written commandments. "

Salvation, Instantaneous or a continual process?
Galations 6:8 says " For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.Matthew 10:22 says "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Verses like these have been causing me to seriously rethink the typical church view of salvation. I was always taught that if you just said "the prayer" you were eternally secure. However, the more that I study the more it seems like entering into covenant with Yeshua with our mouth is just the beginning of a process. If that is the case, then what about verses like Acts 2:21 " And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Or Romans 10:9 " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. I can see both sides of the issue, but which has more merit?
Then you throw in a twist like 1 Corinthians 3:15 " If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. What are your thoughts? Shalom
